Hooray for the article to Mr.Kerry, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for the
service you gave to MY country. With out your loyal service to protect and defend us we
would be nowhere and Bush is doing a fine job too, unemployment rate is down(this can be
verified on the Department of labor's website at www.bls.gov as of Jan 2004 we are at 5.6
percent compared to aug 2003 at 6.1 percent but I know I don't have to tell you that as
you are a smart man. Anyway a big thank you to you for making my country a better place,

Hi Don, Loved the letter about Hanoi John. He sounds good now with his promises to the
veterans just to get a vote. He hurt us Vietnam veterans. I was there in 1968-69 (Big Red
One) and again in 1991-92 (USARVN). I was in the Infantry and never saw what he is
spreading. I spent many hours in the bush. We were always kind to the locals, were some
VC?, maybe, but you cannot tell. I am sure some of them must have appreciated us also.
Kerry will not get one vote from my family for the hurt he bestowed upon us Vietnam
Veterans and Americfa. I love your site, it is great. I also wish you the best of luck in
the future. I am a 20 year military retiree, E-7, one that has been there. larryd

Don, Thanks for all you have done for this country and all of man kind. I was in the U
S Army durring the Viet Nam war era. I served as an M P in the states and W. Germany. My
tour of duty was from 1962 to 1965, sorry to say we dident know a lot about Viet Nam at
that time. I thank you for writting about John Kerry. I think it would be nice that
everyone that had memories about Kerry while he was in Nam also write about them. If
anyone reading this letter wants a reality check, just visit a Veteran hospital in your
area, and see the men and women that fought for this country from ww11 untill the present.
They fought for our freedom and our way of life, and then people like Kerry and Fonda come
along and do what they do. Its a slap in the face to every Veteran that served this
country in times or war or peace. I pray that God will bring U S citizens to get to know
John Kerry as he really is. Thanks again Don and God Bless you and you family and efforts.

president of the United States. I had seen other writings about him, but they conviently
disappeared off the internet. I really believe that we will be in a heap of trouble with

Mr. Bendell, First of all , I would like to extend a belated "WELCOME HOME".
This country should be very ashamed for the way it treated Vietnam Veterans. The soldiers
who served in that war did so with comittment, dedication, and honor. Kerry's post-Vietnam
behavior was nothing short of treasonous. His collusion with radical elements to include
the "V V A W" and Hanoi Jane Fonda proved that he was diametrically opposed to
freedom and democratic values. Their efforts did not go unnoticed. Former NVA General Giap
thanked the V V A W. In his 1985 memoir about the war, Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap wrote that if
it weren't for organizations like Kerry's Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Hanoi would
have surrendered to the U.S. Kerry and his merry band of "revolutionaries" did
their damndest to re-enforce negative Vietnam Veteran stereotypes. His fabricated
"testimony" before Congress involving "atrocities" he did not witness
but "heard of" should have landed his sorry ass in jail for perjury. Further
evidence of his character and ethical deficiencies are mentioned in recent news reports
which outline his connections with the same Chinese arms merchants who gave campaign
contributions to Clinton and Gore. Kerry is at best an opportunistic socialite and at
worst, a socialist hack. And this is who the Democrats want as
"Commander-In-Chief"? Thanks once again for your fine commentary! SFC Cheryl

Don, I've read your commentary about Mr. Kerry, and I'm afraid I have to plead
ignorance about the points you sited, as I never served in 'nam and have no military
service at all. However, I do work for DoD now, and from my perspective, president Bush is
not "all that", either! He has tried, (and is still trying), to de-rail the
careers of civilian employees by running interference on our raises, abeting another BRAC
round, and promoting out-sourcing to private contractors. All-in-all, I think politicians
SUCK;...there has been very few in the last 2 or 3 decades that even tried to keep their
words on ANY important policies, and as I am beginning my 17th year in Federal service,

Unfortunately, we have always had these political weathervanes mealymouths who have no
touch with reality. Sort of like Snivel Chamberlain or Acibides. We had them back in the
Great War when I served in the South Pacific jungles with the 1st (Marines). Notice he is

I to was in Viet Nam in 1967-68. I was assigned to the Special Forces at MOC HUA as a
Physician to the 100+ men and to the local civilian hospital. I spent more time attending
the sick and wounded Vietnamese than my own troops. As a member of this elite group of men
I am proud to say that there where no wrong doings reported before or during my year in
country. We saved many civilians who whould have died if not for us. We established a fine
hospital for the people and gave food and clothing to them all. I did see the the
slaughter of men, women, and children by the Viet Cong. Whole villages destroyed by them.
We tried to pick up the pieces, but the people were afraid to get to friendly. If John
Kerry did these things then he should not be our next President. I do not like war, but I
will support my president and our fighting men to the end.

As a former Air Force officer it sickens and saddens me to know that people such as
Kerry have such a loud voice via all the liberal media and the truth is suppressed about
him and his liberal agenda. I did not have the privilage of being in Nam because my
assignments took me elsewhere, however, I hold our veterans of Vietnam in a special place
in my heart as they sacrificed for us and then were spit on by fellow citizens and the
pukes such as Fonda, Kerry, and the rest of the liberals in Hollywood and the press. Real
heros, such as President Bush, never get the recognition they deserve because it take big
onions to speak what you believe and then stand behind it with decisive action. If that
moron Gore or that whoremaster former President Clinton had been in office we would be
sharing our meal now with those towel heads and our women and children would be living in

I did a 7 month tour off vietnam on the USS Intrepid in a Skyraider squadron in 1966.
Our birds had a big Thunder Bee on the side of them. Maybe you saw us out there. I then
volunteered and went in-country for 14 months. But instead of going back to the
ungreatfull public in the States at the time, I went to the Philippines for a few of
years, where we were still appreciated. I gave 30 years of service and now work Civil
Service in the High Desert at China Lake. In Vietnam we all pitched in to help the ville's
around the bases and camps throughout the country. John Hanoi Kerry sherked his duties as

It was refreshing to read all the different comments from some real heros. I missed it
because of age but I have a special feeling for every soul that served in Nam. Gentlemen,
this is a time when each of us must vote and get friends to vote so we don't get some jerk
like Kerry in the white house. All vets, Nam or others deserve a good and decent person
like George Bush. He put it all on the line to protect this country with many of you
caring out the mission. As vets we must do what ever it takes to head off this Moron named
Kerry.

snake in the grass. If he were to become president this country would go Marxist.
Everything we have honored in america would be rewritten, and destroyed. I was in Vietnam,

Ooohrah, Sir! Thank you for your eloquent insight into the character of Senator Kerry,
alias Hanoi John. I too served in the Republic of Vietnam. My tour in Vietnam as a United
States Marine was from Jan 1967 to Feb 1968, never venturing south of Da Nang, and only
then to arrive and depart country. I think most of us witnessed or heard of some such
attrocities as Mr. Kerry related, but to group 500,000 brave enlisted men and officers
into that category is extremely unfair, both to us and to our families. He surely did not
witness them during his brief 120-day stay in country. A man of this character does not
need to and can not be allowed to lead this great country of ours. The word must get out.
Thank you, sir for doing what you do and saying what you say. ...and if no one has told
you lately, welcome home, sir.

Hi Don, Thank You for the article you wrote on "kerry." I too spent time in
Nam, with the 3rd Marine Division. I also know what it's like to pay the price. I still
have the scars of Agent Orange. I also lost my prostate at the age of 49, and still
dealing with other issues. I find it hard that a person who, was supposed to be a Vet,
could make comment's like he has, and not show us any support. I do not consider him a
patriot... Though we fought for his "right" to speak his mind. How ever "I
will not allow," a person like kerry effect me or my family. Besides writing letters,
voting at the polls, and passing info on to other's, are the greatest things we can do to

Don, As a Viet Vet, I want to thank you for your stance on the war and for your
truthfulness...something of which John Kerry obviously has NO CLUE. I spent a total of 2
1/2 years in SEA, from Okinawa to Laos and never saw any activities the sort of which
Kerry lies any where in any form. Everywhere I went, we did our best to be a good
representative of our nation. If John Kerry saw what he claims, he apparently was a poor
representative of his nation and has no business being President. Keep up the good work.

Don, First of all WELCOME HOME! As a Viet Nam vet (69-70) I want to thank you for your
letter. It really tells the truth. As a vet I also saw a lot of action and NEVER did I see
any of the garbage that Mr. Kerry claims to have seen. If Mr. Kerry is so proud of his
medals and accomplishments in Viet Nam, then why did he claim to throw them away and
disgrace our flag by wearing it as a distress signal? He lied about the medals, (which he
fessed up to at a much later date because he got caught) so why would we believe anything
esle he has to say? I believe that sometimes if people like Mr. Kerry, are just wanna-bes
that never really saw REAL action. So they have to sensationalize it for the press. I know
that is the norm in politics. I am also very proud of the National Guard, my son serving
and several of my friends are serving at this moment in Iraq. I for one believe that we
finally have a President in that is not afraid to tell the truth, unlike some of our past
presidents. Once again WELCOME HOME and God Bless you for your efforts. Dan Carter.

Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the truth as you wrote it in your open
letter to Kerry. To me he is a life time member of the Jane Fonda Club.It is beyond my
understanding how anyone who served there could ever be lucky enough to make it back and
then become a truncoat.Kerry made remarks recently about not being a real fighter if you
did not carry an M-16. I think Senator McCain and other plane jockeys might take him to
task on such statements. The best I remember from those days long ago the fellows in those
ejection seats only carried automatic pistols. Many of those pilots and crew members fought
with handguns, I wonder what Kerry would say about them.I will make my voice heard come
election day and I too like the job our President has done. I like the man he is and his
Christian soul and his commitment to do what is good for all the people of this country
not just a few. Thank you for your service on behalf of the greatest country on the face

Ironic, I was just about to e-mail my contact at the Marine Corps League,
Westchester,NY chapter to write about my disdain at the way Sen Kerry and his cronies are
trying to denegrate the service of National guardsmen and Reservists during the Viet Nam
war. It should be remembered that there was a draft at the time, and many of us chose to
be in "the Reserves" or "Guard" while still in college (yes, we didn't
all go to college in order to get a deferrment). I enlisted in the United States Marine
Corps in 1959 (19 years of age) and was honorably discharged in 1965. many Green Berets
and Marines were already in country at that time. I served proudly as a marine and was
ready, if activated, to serve my country in Viet Nam or elsewhere. So too did President
Bush serve his country in the same way, by volunteering, not running. Thank you for your
eloquent letter and your sacrifices for our country! To Senator Kerry..... As for all this
rhetoric about whether or notPresident Bush showed up for drills: Mr Kerry wake up and use
your brain, you do not get your wings as a fighter pilot without going through the
intensive training at flight school. President Bush was a fighter pilot, get it? As for
supporting your country, your behaviour here seems to add credence to what people allege
about your personal life: You treated your country like a mistress, when you tired of her
you threw "your" medals over the White House gate...if you wanted to break off
your "love affair" with the USA you should have just left, but I guess it's in
your character not to leave but to betray her and go for the free ride. You have
dishonored yourself (who cares?) and have attempted to dishonor all Americans past,
present and future who have served, are serving, or will serve in the National Guard and
Reserves of our great and wonderful nation. I wish you well, and hope that you quickly
move to that villa in the Hanoi suburbs and leave the rest of us "HONORABLY
DISCHARGED" veterans alone!
