Re: Your 05.21.04 Op/Ed - WARNING! IMMEDIATE THREAT! WMD FOUND THROUGHOUT THE USA! As
for most of our network news media: It is about time that America understands it is being
fed very slanted news and, in some cases, withheld knowledge or even outright lies by the
vast majority of its network and some of its bigtime print news media. Your Op/Ed
describes this in a very attention-getting manner. Perhaps the media will be emboldened to
"take you on" in this regard...but I think not. It has far too much
"creditability" to lose by being completely truthful. On the other hand, with
FOX NEWS' FAIR & BALANCED approach steadily gobbling up their ratings, their entities'
values will diminish to the point that each may eventually be sold. Thereafter, the new
owners will likely change policy in order to compete effectively with the outlets
commanding the greater market shares. Your efforts will surely hasten this process.
Congratulations! And please keep up your fine work in this regard. It's refreshing to see
another guy with GUTS GALORE! As regards the DNC...its lies are already so blatant &
easily identified that the panic permeating the organization is obvious. It will likely
self-destruct since many more Americans are far more intelligent than it thinks...and are
chuckling to themselves over its laughable attacks upon our leaders, our defenders, our
morals, our families, our belief in a self-determined future, our faith in our God, our
United States Constitution and our willingness to pay whatever the price to remain a free
people. Americans are so very tired of ATTACK-BASED POLITICS!! You'd think the DNC would
have taken note when Ardold Schwarzenegger, possessing zero political experience
whatsoever, overwhelmingly defeated all contenders, including the recently elected
incumbent, amidst a mud slinging free-for-all during the citizen-initiated recall election
for governor within the very LIBERAL (Democrat Party dominated) State of California. I
guess it did not notice, correct? Or maybe it already realizes that the exposed truth will
set all of its members seeking a new means of employment. Regardless, how dumb does it
really think we all are? BROJAK

Don, Thanks for your efforts to get the truth out about Kerry. As you might have
noticed, the national partisan media are suppressing many of the veteran's feelings
against Kerry or are minimizing them. After the Swift Boat vets (www.swiftvets.com) came
out against Kerry, most media simply reported the Kerry campaign's explanation of them as
old alchoholics, or ignored the story alltogether. Once again, Vietnam veterans' voices
are not being heard, and it's truly despicable. Thanks to the few publications that
publish your writing. I had a thought: this Independence Day, many communities will be
holding paradesor events. I suggest that vets who want to do something about educating our
regular citizens gather a group together to get information off the internet, such as your
site, the www.wintersoldier.com site or others. Put together presentations of the Swift
Boat vets' comments, and set up a table at their event. Let people see for themselves how
much we really care about what this man did to betray us. The "which medal did he
throw" controversy just confused the average civilian, and this would be a chance to
set the record straight. I know we're not good activists, Don, but I challenge all the
vets out there to spend a little time organizing something like this for your community.
If the partisan media won't tell the real story, WE, the families and veterans of the
Vietnam war, WILL!! Semper fi!

You have very strong words. You should know that different things happen at different
places and different people are accused and pay for different actions of others...... lest
we forget Lt. Calley....... I have lost loved ones in World War II and also in Vietnam and
I have an 18 year old son at this very moment serving our country in Afghanistan. I don't
believe ANYONE should talk against what our men go through while they are fighting for
this country. You do what you do to stay alive. I do not agree with the mistreatment of
any human by another BUT I can say that whatever our people have done cannot compare with
the treatment we received from the vietnamese with their cages dropped down in water with
the rats or the bamboo shoots under the nails or the electric wires touched to the bodies
of our men while they were submerged in water......so do not make our military at this
moment in time pay a price they do not deserve to pay. Americans are the most human in
treatment ever and have endured the worst. I get so furious when I think about all the
people that act so self-rightoeus and pure that they make others pay a far greater price
than what is deserved just to paint a pretty picture for the rest of the world. Yes, I
believe we needed to get Sadaam and I believe we need to get Bin Laden but not at the cost
of cutting down the ones in our country that have offered to sacrifice their lives and
fought on the front lines for this country. Bush does not hold accountable those that
should be....... So do be careful on what you say about who.... make sure it goes where it
is deserved!!

Dear Don: Just discovered your website. I wish to thank you for your comments. As an
old teacher and university professor, I insisted that one learns to think for oneself. I
taught skills not propaganda. And the subject matter, history and political science was
the medium to teach those skills. The first thing was to view all medium: newspapers,
television, magazines and the like with an intelligent "eye" and inquisitive
mine. When doing such one is able to discern the bias in these "literatures.: Having
done a large amount of research and especially on the influence of the media on the public
mindset and its influence to determine the outcomes of elections, it is extremely
interesting. The major portion of the media is to the left (liberal) and it sells well
because it is politically correct. Americans have such a complex when it comes to being
the "bad guy." We have been spoon fed this through the media. Moreover, the
media knows that the most fascinating news is "negative news." It
sells!!!!!!!!!! At one point sitting in an airport for 45 minutes watching a cable
channel, I counted the negative news reports. Of 45 minutes of news, there were 6
instances of anything positive. Not much of a balance. It is also very amusing to me that
when celebrities get involved, they always note their allegiance to the
"liberal" view. They cannot afford to be the "bad guy." They also
cater to those who are easily swayed. That they give to charity. Give me a break. They end
up paying less taxes and end up ahead of what they would pay. Enough! Just let me state
that I am hopeful that people in the upcoming election will look at the facts. In the
election of !992, the news media evaluated themselves afterward and admitted they showed
George Bush Sr. in negative lights on a continous basis. Moreover, I am sick and tired of
the news media purporting that George Bush (our current president) cannot put a sentence
together etc. etc. Who are they kidding?? This is an old and familiar tactic of the media.
Unfortunately, people do not do research and do not gather the "facts." God help
this country if we continue letting someone make up our minds for us instead of
investigating. And a big thank you to who appears to search for the facts and to the men
and women serving in our military. Moreover, let me raise the question of when are we
Americans are going to learn that the rest of the world is never going to approve of us.
We have more than anyone in this world and we have to learn that we cannot be loved by
everyone. I have travelled globally over the years and believe me, people criticize the U.
S. but then that is to be expected. We are the envy of the world with our freedom, our
resources, our tenacity, etc. etc. But, we cannot expect to be loved. It is interesting
that most people want to get to this country to live, not leave it. Try living elsewhere
in the world. We Americans have the best. I know from esperience. We have the best of the
world. Let's keep it this way and attempt to be thoughtful in our choice of leaders and
not be lead by the media. Thanks for your "ears." and the opportunity to state
this and yes "Bless America" "Bless our military" and those who serve
and defend. And, for those who see "Bless" as a religious term and think this is
a religious discourse, give me a break and get a life. Believe me, we live in the best
country in the world. Lyn

Don, First off, I also would like to thank you for both your service to this country
and for having the moral courage to stand up to John Kerry. I am 30 years old and will
never serve in the military, though I long to do so. I have to many medical conditions
that prevent me from doing so, and that saddens me deeply. I am also saddened when I see
the state of the union. We have protestors refusing to support our troops and our
Commander in Chief. We have some one running to be the Commander in Chief who votes to
decrease all military spending across the board, and wants to hand over the military reins
to the U.N. It saddens me to see that so many young men do not want to sign up for the
military, when that would do both a service to them as well as the country. It saddens me
that my children have to grow up to hear all of the bad things in the news, and none of
the good things. However, I then read your site, and your guestbook and I feel a little
better. I see a brother in law who is training to be a tank commander and I feel a little
better. I talk to others who are proud to stand as Americans and help keep it free, and I
feel better. I see a President who says something, and then backs it up, and I feel
better. Thanks to you and other vets, yes this includes John Kerry in his small role, we
have the right to stand up and say what we feel. Thanks to you and other vets, I can still
teach my kids it is ok to say "One Nation UNDEER GOD" in the Pledge of
Allegiance. I can teach them, that even though I cannot serve in the military, it is a
proud and great duty to serve this country, even if you must die for our liberties and
others liberties. Every time I see an American Jet fly over, or hear the National Anthem
my heart sweels with pride and my eyes tear up, and I hope I can pass this on to my
children. I hope they can understand that this country is great because of people like you
and all the other vets, as well as the President and the great people in his
administration. Everytime I hear the negative people protesting this war and bringing down
this countries efforts to bring freedon to the world and it brings me much saddness.
However, great people like you, my brother, and President Bush, with the moral strength to
stand up for what WE THE PEOPLE believe in. God Bless you and your family for all that you
do for this great country. Geoff

Don, I want to thank you for revealing the truth about Hanoi John "Commucrat"
Kerry. During the Korean War our B-29 crew was shot down in Red N. Korea. Four days after
being captured, we were taken by force into Red China and accused of violating RC's
airspace, dropping germ bombs, & numerous other war crimes against the people of RC.
Our crew underwent extensive &intensive interrogations and indoctrination sessions
during our unpleasant sojourn to RC. After the cease fire on July 27, 1953, we were held
back along with thousands of other POWs. While interned in a hellhole in Peking, we saw
other prisoners who were not released and who are still enduring the same hell our crew
endured. Two of our own (radar operators) crew were held back and not released. I
personally saw one of them about seven months after our shoot down & capture. Eleven
of our crew were released on August 4, 1955, over two years after the KW cease fire had
been signed and after the Red Chinese claimed that they had release all POWs whom they
were holding. Upon our return to the Free World, we reported having seen others who were
not released & were still being held. I reported my sighting of one of our radar
operators. We were admonished never to talk or write about those poor unfortunate souls
who were betrayed, left behind, & abandoned. In one of Comrade Kerry's ads, he boast
that he & John McCain worked diligently to learn the truth about our still missing
fellow American countrymen & to solve the MIA/POW Issue. Hogwash! As Chairman of the
so-called Senate "Select" Committee on POW/MIA Affairs, Comrade Kerry sabatoged
the efforts to learn the truth. He and ten other "select" senators (including
John McCain,a former POW) had their minds made up at the outset that they would conclude
that no POWs were left behind. I was invited to DC to testify before that
"select" committee of twelve, but my testimony was present to one senator
(Senator Bob Smith of NH); the other eleven (including Comrades Kerry & McCain) had
left the chamber to take care of their own private trivial matters which was evidently
much more important to them than learning the truth about our still missing and
unaccounted for MIAs & POWs. If presidential John "Commucrat" Kerry claims
he did anything to help our MIAs & POWs, he is lying. A vote for this turncoat traitor
would be equivalent to a vote for Red China & Red Vietnam. The Red Chinese boasted
that they would destroy America and that it didn't matter how long it would take. They
said that time was on their side and that they would over time incrementally take over our
country and turns us into a communist-type republic. If Comrade Kerry should happen to
become president and turn over the defense of our great Capitalistic Nation to the
irrevalent, impotent, and bungling communist-controlled United Nations, we would surely be
in jeopardy of losing everything that our Founding Fathers and the millions of young men
& women of America have suffered & sacrificed in order to give us and to preserve
for us, the most precious of these things is our personal freedom. God bless you Don,
& God bless and protect our great nation and all our courageous young military
personnel, & May He bless, protect, and soon bring home all of our still missing &
unaccounted for POWs & MIAs. Steve, former MIA & POW of Red China.

I am also part of the "BoB", with 100+ combat missions in an AC-130 gunship over
Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam and am proud of the medals that I earned through hard work and
dedication. JK should be ashamed. Sincerely, Matt

Regarding the previous poster's comment about KErry serving more than 4 months; Here is
an article that can clear that up, but OOPS! Looks like it contains some not so flattering
remarks about his killing innocent citizens...can you say U-N-E-L-E-C-T-A-B-L-E?
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=12386 Keep up the great work and
thanks for providing a forum for Vets to speak out. My Best to You and Yours, Mr. Bendell!

Bendell you're all this country needs, another whiney macho man right winger. Please
allow me to set your lie straight. Kerry went to viet Nam twice. Two tours. Your statement
of his serving 4 months is wrong and you know it. Lets see now, what was that pesky little
commandment? Oh yeah, I remember, THOU SHALT NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS. Here's a challenge
for you. Every time you want to go back and see what John Kerry was doing or saying 35
years ago, let us also see what George Bush was doing at the same time.

Thanks Don!! Keep up the good work! The American public needs to know all about this
particular enemy here at home, Mr. Kerry, who appears to be willing to stop at nothing, in
his quest for power! America beware!! I, too, remember Vietnam, I lost my husband and our
daughter lost her father at 18 mos of age. For all who have served and who continue to
serve in our proud and strong military... you are the best of the best..I am proud of you,
my prayers are with you, and I personally thank you for my freedom!! God Bless You! God
Bless America! Helen

Don, Thank you so much for your stance. So many people just believe whatever Mr. Kerry
says as fact. It's wonderful to see a man who actually spent real time in a war zone
telling the truth. I pray many people read your words and take them to heart before voters
make a terrible mistake in November!

Mercenaries are yet one more step removed from the notion of citizen soldiers fighting
to defend a democracy. This remove is important because it makes it easier for
administrations like Bush to engage in wars and/or actions that are repugnant to
democratically minded people. Lets not forget that one of the big reasons we eventually
got out of Viet Nam was the fact that our citizen soldiers started to rebel against the
mission that we were engaged in there. A professional army would have been much slower to
do that. Mercenaries would never ever do it so long as they get their $1000/day. THE
DANGER To break the link between citizens and soldiers is to take a large step toward
empire and opression.

Sir: I too am a Vietnam Vet. (21/2 tours) and the very thought of that creep hari keri
becoming our Commander-in-Chief sickens me to no end. WE have absolutely got to get the
millions+ men and women of the the armed forces to- gether with all men and women veterans
who have served this great nation of ours to rally behind our great Commander-in-Chief,
President George W. Bush and sink Hanoi John's boat(Pun intended)! The message about this
anti-AMERICAN -anti-Vietnam War Vets- and last but not certainly, not the least
anti-Vietnam POW's. We can never let him forget all the military past and present that he
has totally let down. It is a terrible thing to say about an American, but he comes soo
close to being a traitor for his actions againt the fighting men and women who were still
in country when he lied with impunity at the rigged Senate Foreign Relations
Sub-Committee, then chaired by Anti-Vietnam War Senator W. Fullbright,Dem. from where else
but Ark. and a mentor of another great American,"LYING BILL" clintooon. WE
Vietnam War Veterans can never FORGET that this medal happy jerk, who palled around with
the likes of "Hanoi jane, ramsey clark, tom hayden and that "commie" ilk,
called us MURDERS, BABY KILLERS etc. and used phoney so-call Viet-nam Vets(Band of
Brothers?) to back up his known to be lies. Enough is enough! Sorry to rant on so. Joe

John Kerry is rotten to the core. Bush isn't much better. Are you aware of all that is
going on with the New World Order and the illuminati? If not you need to be. This country
and world are in big trouble. Jesus Christ is the only answer.
