TIME FOR DON TO GIVE US THE TRUTH ON GEORGE BUSH'S INVASION OF IRAQ! Despite the fact that this is a global war that requires broad support over long timescales, George Bush has not tried to gain Democratic support; he has not engaged seriously with the international community; he has not asked the American public for any kind of sacrifice; he has continued to push a divisive domestic agenda; he has shown little interest in funding anti-proliferation efforts; he has declined to put adequate resources into Afghanistan; he has done nothing to fix an intelligence operation that's quite obvously broken; and he has stonewalled every investigation into the failures that allowed 9/11 to happen. In light of this, just how seriously do you think George Bush takes the fight against terrorism? I'd say, not very. REMEMBER Al-Qaeda is in Afghanistan

Don, "You done good!" You're right, we Viet Nam vets did step up to the plate for this election. Feels good. The Dems still don't know what hit them. If they try o run another goof-ball like Kerry, I expect we'll step up to the plate again. The Swift Vets and POWs also "done good!" Thank you for your service to our country, thank all other vets for your service to our country, and THANK YOU who are serving today. We all know that Freedom isn't free and the Kerry supporters just don't get it, and probably never will.

Veteran opponents of both liberal interventionism (Southeast Asia) and right-wing, neoconservative interventionism (Central America) will recall that these movements persisted for many years—more than a decade in the case of Vietnam—before the society as a whole recognized the folly and crime of such military interventionism.

Martin N. Tirrell has brought up an excellent point. Although the last election helped vindicate the Vietnam veterans, there are sore losers who aren't willing to forgive them for contributing to the defeat of the traitor John Kerry. I never said that we can afford to let our guard down against them, and if they make a wrong move, they deserve NO QUARTER from us.

Did I hear someone mention closure. Closure? Like hell. The next dem nominee will more than likely be an anti war liberal with ties to all sorts of back room clans. I am not going to waste the efforts of so many veterans who drove kerry underground, by even considering closure. The battle is still raging. The battle over Nam is still an issue. New England is full of war protesting hippies from the 60's. There are still noses to be rubbed in the dung of the war protesting hippy movement.

On 2 November, probably the most important battle of the Vietnam War took place, over 25 years after the hapless country of South Vietnam was overrun by the Communists. I hope that the maligned veterans of that war find closure as they reclaim the honor that had been stolen from them.

Thanks again Don and to you and all veterans of all wars. I am a Pennsylvania raised VietNam vet and am sitting here next to two other engineers that I Work with. One born in VietNam during the war and another born in Cambodia during the slaughter years of the early 1970's. I tell you each of them lost family and each of them love the USA more than most native born Americans ever will. They were fortunate enough to get to move here and now each would fight for her tomorrow if called apon. Where would they be today if we Americans turned our backs? God bless you, all Americans and our country for truly caring about others. We cannot just abandon the Iraqi people as many want us to do. I guess some people don't remember what happened with the Nazi's. Too many turned their backs too long and too many died.

Don, as one that was on teh 13AF staff for 3 yeard in the late 60s and early 70s I was in Vietnam countless times and also sat in on daily staff meetings highlighting what was going on. I was well aware if the fine work being done by our military, While no one denegrates the combat Senator Kerry was in, it is obvious he obtained Purple Hearts for nicks and very minor wounds most of you would just "chalk off" and got out of there as fast as he could. His actions after he he returned to the US was very dishonorable and something he should have been tried for treason for. I retired in 1972 after 31 years service.

Thank you all who helped get our president re-elected! I know I am breathing a sigh of relief knowing President Bush’s strong vision, steady course, and sensible leadership will guide us FOUR MORE YEARS! Thank you also to Don Bendell for taking a stand by writing all those editorials. I know it was a tough ordeal for his whole family in enduring the threats, the hate, and the just plain horrible emails and phone calls over the last nine months. But such a stand helped educate many. I know I did not understand why the scars of Vietnam were so intense for veterans until reading these editorials. I am hopeful the voices of so many Vietnam Veterans that were heard during this election will continue to open up the hearts of appreciation of Americans like myself who were clueless before. I think you will see new books, new movies, new documentaries that will wipe clean the misinformation and lack of appreciation so long rooted in the American psyche about the military in Vietnam. I look forward to hearing “Welcome home!” echoing across our country in a wave of healing. And equally important, I believe we will see that such a travesty will not occur to our troops fighting terrorism around the globe.

Don, thank God President Bush has won. Let's just hope the traitor has the decency to concede this morning and spare the nation more anguish. Even Nixon decided not to contend the 60 election in the face of massive voter fraud in Chicago. We'll see what Kerry is made of...though i suspect i know.

This is my second entry to this guestbook. It is election day and i like millions of others have cast their ballots. I hope and pray that George W Bush will continue to be our president. I like many others am afraid of what might happen if Hanoi john and the ambulance chaser are elected to office. I am a vietnam combat veteran (dec 67-dec68), having served with the 1st infantry division, and i also spent 10 years in the oklahoma army national guard, after i had completed my duty with the army . John Kerry is not to be trusted and will sell our nation out to the un if he has the opportunity. this is a great site, keep up the good work mr. bendell.

Ous, Mr. Bendell, as a fellow Martial Artist and Patriot, I salute your efforts to let America know what kind of scoundrel threatens to take the White House. It is 1AM, on election day and as I sit here in NY typing this message, I find myself in deep prayer that President Bush will get the opportunity to continue working to preserve America's freedom. Bush is presently the best choice for defending our nation. People need to remember 9/11 as well as the terrorist attacks that took place under the Clinton administration's watch. I firmly believe that 9/11 could have been prevented if Clinton's people were more focused on preserving freedom and less focused on balancing the budget. President Bush inherited a very bad situation and has worked hard to get alot accomplished on two fronts. Most people don't understand why we need to be in Iraq. Most people think this is only about oil and Haliburton. It's unfortunate that they can not look deeper. John Kerry scares me. I see him sacrificing Israel to appease terrorists. I seem him getting ready to apologize to terrorist nations. What will he do if he is president, invite Osama to the White House for a sleepover and milk and cookies? I hope there are enough Real Americans out there to see through the lies. I hope they have seen what Kerry did to our Veterans. Thank you for all your great work and God bless! Today's story at http://www.nysun.com/article/4040  is the final straw that should get this whole country asking Kerry to release his records via the Standard Form 180 AND to get the supposedly unbiased media to ferret out the answer about Kerry's other than honorable discharge. Don't we deserve the full, honest answer from a man who claims to be honest and who calls our Commander in Chief a liar almost every day just to get votes? If this comes out later and the media says, "Oops," and Kerry is president, it will be too late! Kerry will be laughing in our face at his successful cover-up. Bloggers unite and get this in the mainstream media TODAY!
