OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BUSH, HIS
FRIENDS, AND HIS ENEMIES
Opinion by Don Bendell
July 12, 2005
Dear Mr. President;
Our nation is under a much, much larger immediate threat than
we faced on 9-11. You have already been alerted about it by former CIA
Director George Tenet and others, but I feel all need to know. I worked my
butt off writing op-eds to try to insure your re-election. Now, I
respectfully, but frantically, write this missive with the intention of
howling at the moon to insure we save the lives of millions of our
citizens. If all the dogs in a neighborhood start barking vociferously,
there is usually either a neighborhood intruder or an earthquake on its
way. In either case, watch out! By the same regards, there are certain
watch-dogs in our national community who are now barking, howling, and
yipping like never before. Mr. President, please listen closely to them,
or we will pay the price like we did on September 11, 2001, only far
worse. I dont mean the self-appointed talk show host
experts-on-all-subjects, who tell moms how to raise kids when they have
never borne one, or how to be a good wife, when they have never wed. I
mean the real experts, special operations personnel, spooks, FBI agents;
and essentially, everyone who was not really shocked when 9-11 occurred.
With all due respect, Sir, it is time to take off the gloves
and kick some serious terrorist butt, including those gangs who are
complicit in the Al-Qaidas deadly endeavors here in our country. Our
first line of defense is the Mexican border, and our strategy must change
immediately. More importantly, the Al-Qaida drew first blood. We have to
attack, not just in Iraq, but right here, right now. The only blood
spilled on our soil in this fight must be the blood of tyrants bent on our
destruction. If not, it will be more innocent American blood leaking into
our hallowed soil, buckets of it, and it will happen soon, very soon.
Because of this real and immediate threat, Democrats, it is
time to shout down outspoken liberals like Howard Dean and SEN Dick
Durbin, and tell them this is a time for patriotism, not politics. We are
at war and Hillary Clinton just publicly-equated George W. Bush with
Alfred E. Neuman. Why? Because she wants to be Boss Hogg in 2008. Sorry,
Maam, we need to survive first, and we cannot do that by sabotaging our
commander-in-chief during war. Muslims and Islamic leaders, it is time to
finally loudly denounce bin Laden, Zarqawi, and those of their ilk. It is
time for fatwahs denouncing the Al-Qaida. It is time to cry out about
terrorism by jihadists.
As Governor of Texas, Sir, you probably became one of the most
knowledgeable experts on illegal immigration issues in the country, and I
am sure this entered into your decisions on handling Mexican-American
border issues. And I am equally certain, you probably had the
most-informed, correct answer to the issue, except for one important fact.
It would be good, if we were not fighting an international insurgent force
that plays our liberal news media like a cheap fiddle, and manipulates our
own political system as a deadly weapon, by encouraging those corrupted by
power to daily drop dirty bombs of words that only divide us, and has now
spotted that glaring weak place in our defense, the Mexican border, and
used it to smuggle numerous nuclear devices into the United States of
America to carry out a deadly coordinated attack which shall make 9-11
look like a sneeze into a silk hanky by comparison.
The real problem, Sir, is that when you governed Texas, people
were crossing mainly to get available jobs to feed their families, and
businesses liked it as they got dirt cheap labor that others cared not to
do, but now, according to Joseph Farahs G2 Bulletin, and other
highly-credible news and respected intelligence sources, the Al-Qaida has
purchased on the arms blackmarket 40 Soviet nuclear weapons, maybe as many
as 70, and paying $ 30,000 to $ 50,000 per incident, have already smuggled
quite a few into the US across the Mexican border, with the help of the
countrys most dangerous and violent street gang, the notorious Mara
Salvatrucha 13, or M13 Street Gang, which started in El Salvador, but now
like a plague of locusts with bad attitudes, has spread to most urban
neighborhoods in major US cities coast-to-coast. These punks just dont
care.
The goal of the Al-Qaida is to detonate these backpack nuclear
bombs, nuclear mines, and artillery rounds, already emplaced in major
cities, including New York, Boston, Washington, Las Vegas, Miami, Chicago,
and Los Angeles, in a massive coordinated attack unseen in world history
to fulfill Usama bin Ladens goal of what he has described over and over
as a US Hiroshima, according to captured Al-Qaida documents and
prisoners.
If we spend our time worrying about political correctness,
instead of strategic directives, we will be as responsible for the death
of millions of our citizens as well as our economy, as we would be as an
accomplice to a crime. Inaction, due to naivete, political correctness, or
failure to prepare, is the formula for nuclear disaster in the Land of the
Free.
Mr. President, take off the gloves and do not worry who you
anger. We will have your back. Those with political aspirations for 2008,
just shut up for now. If you actually think about our country and not your
career, people will notice. We must not see mushroom-shaped clouds rising
above the empty flaming ruins of our largest cities. If we sit on our
hands right now and try to please everybody, we will not have to worry
about a bad hurricane and tornado season. Sir, this must be a season of
change, or we will have to survive nuclear winter.
